Utility Partners of America Donates Laptops to Support Community Outreach

Utility Partners of America recently donated 15 laptops to First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, supporting the church’s efforts to expand access to technology within the local community. The contribution helps individuals and families who lack technology resources better engage in educational, employment, and community opportunities.

The laptops will be distributed through the church’s Laptop Ministry, which provides refurbished devices to individuals who lack reliable access to computers or the internet. After donation, all laptops are securely wiped and prepared with essential software to ensure they are ready for use. Individuals or organizations interested in learning more about the program can inquire through the church’s website or contact the ministry directly.

Some of the Laptop Ministry’s partners include local nonprofit organizations that provide community support services, such as Angel’s Charge Ministry, which supports women transitioning back into the community following incarceration.

“This is a meaningful way to extend the life of our technology while supporting organizations that are doing important work in the community,” said Jack Karamanoukian, Senior Director of Information Technology at Utility Partners of America. “We’re proud to contribute to an initiative that helps remove barriers to access and opportunity.”

First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg has a long-standing commitment to community outreach and service. Through practical solutions that support education, connectivity, and participation, the church works to bridge technology access gaps for individuals and partner organizations through its Laptop Ministry.

Utility Partners of America hopes this contribution will encourage others to consider how repurposed technology can be used to create positive community impact.
